LARGO — Arson was suspected in a Wednesday evening fire that destroyed the living room and a bedroom of a foreclosed home, Chief Joseph Pennino of Largo Fire Rescue said.
The one-story house at 11450 126th Ter. N was unoccupied when nine fire trucks arrived about 7 p.m. Firefighters cut a hole in the roof and broke windows to allow the heat to escape, he said.
Damage was estimated at $50,000, he said.
The cause of the fire was unclear. Pennino said the case was sent to the state fire marshal to be investigated as an arson.
Neighbors reported that vagrants frequented the home, Pennino said.
