Fire damages north Tampa home

TAMPA — Fire caused heavy damage Thursday to the inside of a north Tampa home.

The fire was reported about a 11 a.m. in the single-story home at 3204 Rowan Lane, authorities said. Two people were inside when the fire started, but were able to get out and call 911.

Firefighters arrived and quickly extinguished the blaze, which was centered in an attic over the garage, officials said. No one was injured. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.

The Red Cross was helping the two residents find temporary shelter.
