TAMPA — A fire Wednesday afternoon did $60,000 damage to a Mohawk Avenue house and displaced seven people, Tampa Fire Rescue said.

The home's owner, 68-year-old Oceva Wilson, was inside with two young children when they noticed smoke coming from a bedroom. She and the children got out safely.

When firefighters arrived at 3628 E Mohawk Avenue just after 3 p.m., they found smoke and flames erupting from the one-story house.

A cause hasn't been determined, but fire officials suspect that it was accidental. The two adults and four children who live with Wilson will stay with relatives.
