SEFFNER — A fire destroyed a mobile home Monday morning, but no one was injured.
The fire was reported about 6:15 a.m. at 130 Cherry Lane.
The mobile home, unoccupied for more than a year, was a total loss, said officials with the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue
Smoke from the extinguished flames enveloped Cherry Lane as neighbors watched the firefighters at work.
Among them was Rene Hernandez, who said she heard the crackling of the flames early Monday. She peered out her window and saw the fire.
Hernandez, a retired firefighter, said she knocked on neighbors' doors to make sure they evacuated.
"When I saw that, the instincts just kicked in," Hernandez said.
Fire rescue officials said they do not suspect foul play.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Monday.
