Fire destroys Seffner mobile home

A fire destroyed a mobile home in Seffner Saturday morning, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

The fire started in the living room of the home in the Twin Palms Mobile Home Park on Highway 92, Fire Rescue said. Two adults and four children escaped without injuries. They were woken by the smell of smoke. The home did not have a smoke alarm, Fire Rescue said.

Flames engulfed the trailer by the time crews arrived. A limited water supply forced crews to fight the fire from the outside in order to protect neighboring homes, Fire Rescue said.

A propane tank next to the home exploded but all damage was contained to the single-wide trailer.
