ZEPHYRHILLS — Pasco County firefighters rescued a 63-year-old woman from a burning home Thursday morning.

The woman, who was not identified, was flown to the burn center at Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries, Pasco County Fire Rescue Chief Shawn Whited said.

Two other people were in the home, at 37103 Lemon Ave. in Zephyrhills, when it ignited sometime before 9 a.m. They were able to exit the house on their own.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

The fire was a first for Brandon Wilkinson, the firefighter who carried the woman out of the house. Wilkinson, 29, was hired July 20 after completing fire school, Whited said.
