TAMPA — Firefighters battled several unrelated fires that erupted overnight at three different homes.
Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a fire just before 3 a.m. at 1408 23rd St. N at a single family home. The fire was contained to the kitchen.
Investigators determined the fire was caused by cooking left unattended.
At the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, firefighters received reports of two fires about 11 p.m.
At 4007 Highgate Drive in Valrico, three people ran out of a single family home after hearing a loud bang outside, only to discover the garage engulfed in flames.
In Tampa, firefighters worked another house fire at 7221 Cortez St N., where two residents were awaken by the smell of smoke.
Both fires remained under investigation early Wednesday.
No injuries were reported in any of the fires.
