Firefighters contain Clearwater brush fire in five hours

CLEARWATER — Fire crews battled 10 acres of flames for five hours Monday night before containing a brush fire that broke out near Chautauqua Park.

No one was injured and no structures were damaged in the blaze, officials said.

Firefighters responded to the brush fire, behind 2195 Divino Drive, about 10:25 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what ignited the blaze.

Clearwater, Safety Harbor, Palm Harbor, Dunedin and the Division of Forestry provided aid in containing the fire.

An investigation is under way.
