Firefighters extinguish blaze at Tampa rooming house

Firefighters put out a blaze that damaged the inside of this rooming house Thursday morning near The University of Tampa.

Firefighters put out a blaze that damaged the inside of a rooming house Thursday morning near The University of Tampa.

A resident of the two-story home at 110 S Delaware Ave. reported the fire about 7:47 a.m., fire officials said. Firefighters a few minutes later and found smoke and flames coming from the second floor and the roof.

The fire was quickly extinguished. The cause was under investigation.

The house is split into several apartments, authorities said. No one was injured in the blaze.
