TAMPA — Crews extinguished a blaze Sunday evening that damaged an East Tampa home and slightly injured a firefighter.
No one was inside the single-story house at 3222 Lindell Ave. at 5:55 p.m. when the fire was reported, officials said. Tampa Fire Rescue units arrived within three minutes and forced open the front door to fight the flames.
One firefighter was taken to Tampa General Hospital after suffering a minor burn to the knee, fire officials said. No one else was injured.
The fire was brought under control in 15 minutes. A damage estimate was not yet known, officials said. The cause and origin were being investigated.
Authorities were trying Sunday evening to contact the owner of the home.
