Firefighters work to contain gas leak near Tropicana Field

ST. PETERSBURG — A four-story building near Tropicana Field was evacuated Thursday morning as firefighters investigated a report of a natural gas leak.

A gas line was confirmed to be leaking about 8:30 a.m. at the U-Haul building at 975 Second Ave. S, officials said. The building was evacuated as firefighters worked to stop the leak.

Further information was not immediately available.
