Four displaced after fire sparks in Largo apartment building

LARGO — Four people, including an infant, were displaced Wednesday afternoon after a blaze was reported at an apartment building, Largo fire rescue said.

The fire was reported at 3:14 p.m. at 1725 Washington Ave S. Several units from Largo and Clearwater fire rescues responded and quickly extinguished the blaze at the one-story apartment building.

No one was hurt, fire rescue said. One woman was evaluated at the scene.

It was unknown Wednesday afternoon what caused the fire, but it appears the blaze began in one of the exterior walls of the building.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.

An investigation remained under way.
