Fire damages garage of St. Petersburg home

Firefighters responded to a garage fire at a St. Petersburg home Thursday morning.

About 8:05 a.m., the homeowner at 1701 60th Ter. NE heard a pop and soon saw smoke and flames coming from the garage, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue spokesman Lt. Steven Lawrence said.

Firefighters had contained the fire to the garage by 8:35 a.m. No injuries were reported, Lawrence said.
