Man injured in Shady Hills fire

SHADY HILLS — A 56-year-old man was injured Thursday in a garage fire on Dalberg Drive.

Pasco Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 16628 Dalberg Drive just after 3 p.m. Before firefighters arrived, a bystander ran in to help the man inside and get him to safety. The man was transported by helicopter to Tampa General Hospital with burns to his face and legs, authorities said. The man who helped him out suffered minor smoke inhalation and refused treatment.

Investigators were still looking into the cause of the fire Thursday evening. One dog died in the fire, officials said, and another dog survived.
