Man using lighter to search under bed for baby's pacifier sets bed on fire

LEALMAN — A man using a lighter to hunt for his baby's pacifier under a bed set the bed and his duplex on fire Monday afternoon.

Lealman Fire Capt. Jim Millican said firefighters had the blaze at 3417 52nd Ave. N under control within 10 minutes. The fire was called in about 3:30 p.m.

The resident, whose name wasn't released, escaped the blaze with the baby. Both were unharmed, Millican said.

He said the baby does not live with the father, but with the mother at another location.
