TAMPA — Twenty firefighters battled a kitchen fire in an apartment at 5715 Stevens Court Saturday in which no one was injured, authorities said.
A cooking fire broke out in an apartment at about 11:20 a.m. Saturday, Tampa Fire Rescue said. When firefighters arrived, residents had already evacuated the building. Firefighters got the fire on the third floor under control in about ten minutes.
Tampa Fire Marshall's Office investigator Bill Mann determined the fire was an accident. Fire damage estimates were about $3,000.
The Red Cross will assist the family who lived in the apartment damaged by fire with temporary housing. All other residents were allowed back into their homes.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported, officials said.
