No serious injuries in house fire near Tarpon Springs

TARPON SPRINGS — A house fire Sunday left two residents in north Pinellas County suffering from smoke inhalation but no serious injuries, authorities said.

The fire at 825 Appaloosa Road was reported at 12:45 p.m., and firefighters needed an hour to douse it, District Chief Mark Teolis said. The blaze required firefighters to ventilate the single-story ranch house near Keystone and East Lake roads.

Two people who escaped the fire were being treated for potential smoke inhalation about 1:40 p.m., Teolis said.

Firefighters had not determined where or how the fire started, he said.
