OLDSMAR — Firefighters are battling to contain a brush fire sparked today by a controlled burn of 10 acres of Mobbly Bayou Preserve that's now burning out-of-control, authorities say.
Authorities say that 40 acres are now involved in the fire, which was reported at 3:37 p.m. Firefighters from the Department of Forestry, East Lake, Oldsmar, Palm Harbor and Safety Harbor are all now on-scene battling the blaze.
No structures are reported endangered. The controlled burn was being run by Pinellas County.
