Officials investigate fires on Hillsborough church property

WIMAUMA — Officials are investigating two fires that occurred on two separate days, destroying cottages on the property of a southeastern Hillsborough County church.

The most recent fire occurred at 4 a.m. Wednesday at 5402 J.T. Roberts Ave., on the property of the Church of God, Hillsborough Fire Rescue officials said. In each fire, the building was vacant and no one was injured. Both cottages were uninsured.

Fire officials estimate the loss to each building is $10,000. The cause of the fires was unknown.
