ST. PETERSBURG — A family of six was left without a home after a alarm fire late Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The back of the house at 3536 Third Ave. S. was fully on fire when firefighters responded at 5:26 p.m., said Lt. Joel Granata, a spokesman for St. Petersburg Fire Rescue.
Granata said the blaze began in the back porch area and burned through a rear wall. The home suffered soot damage throughout. It was not clear what started the fire.
No one was injured.
The family of two adults and four children was being assisted with temporary housing by the American Red Cross, officials said.
