TARPON SPRINGS — A couple escaped an early morning fire uninjured, Tarpon Springs Fire District Chief Scott Young said.
When crews from Palm Harbor, East Lake, Safety Harbor and Tarpon Springs arrived on the scene just after 3:47 a.m. Friday, a detached garage behind 1528 Big Bass Drive was "totally involved" in flames, Young said.
"The house that belonged to the garage was starting to be put on fire by the garage fire and the house on the other side of the garage was getting some heat from the fire," he said.
Young said investigators have not determined what caused the fire or the extent of the damage left behind.
"The garage itself was a total loss," he said, but the homes are still habitable.
