TREASURE ISLAND — A woman was taken to the hospital with smoke-related injuries early Friday after a fire started in her home, authorities said.
Firefighters were called around 6 a.m. to 124 120th Ave. N. When they arrived, police officers were already there and had gotten the single occupant, who was not identified, outside.
"They get credit for this rescue," said Treasure Island Fire Chief Bill Mallory. "Everything was contained pretty much to the back bedroom."
Mallory said the blaze, which was quickly extinguished, does not appear to be suspicious. Authorities were still investigating the cause Friday morning.
