TAMPA — A two-alarm fire broke out in a building owned by Tampa International Airport on Friday morning, emitting large plumes of smoke and flames.

Multiple Tampa Fire Rescue units responded to the scene around 11:15 a.m. and were still working to contain the blaze shortly after 1 p.m., according to a live-stream video posted by fire rescue spokesman Jason Penny.

"This is not a plane crash," said Penny, while panning across the flames. "This is just a fire."

Airport spokeswoman Janet Zink confirmed the building is owned by the airport, but said the fire and heavy smoke were not a result of a plane crash. The airport is continuing to operate.

"Flights are still taking off and landing," Zink said.

Penny's video shows the fire at 4710 W Cayuga St. raging in a Catalina Finer Foods warehouse. All 25 employees were accounted for, and it does not appear any were working in the warehouse when the fire erupted, Penny said. There do not appear to be any injuries.

The warehouse is a small building that stores food products such as corn flour, tomatoes and large vats of vegetable oil, Penny said.
