PLANT CITY — A 33-year-old Hawaii woman riding on a motorcycle along Interstate 4 fell off and was fatally injured when a car struck her as she lay in the roadway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The incident occurred just before midnight Sunday on Interstate 4 near Branch Forbes Road.

Jacquelyn Kay Lindemann of Kihei, Hawaii, was a passenger on an eastbound 2006 Yamaha driven by Charles Burr Spencer IV, 32, of Orlando, the Highway Patrol said.

For unknown reasons, the Highway Patrol said, Lindemann fell off the motorcycle and was struck by an eastbound 201 Nissan Altima driven by Vanessa Rose Law, 36, of Plant City.

Spencer and Law stopped at the scene. They were not injured.

Neither Spencer nor Lindemann were wearing helmets, the Highway Patrol said.
