Hernando County Sheriff's Office reports inmate suicide

BROOKSVILLE — An inmate in the Hernando County Detention Center died from an apparent suicide Monday night.

The man was pronounced dead when emergency officials arrived about 11:45 p.m., the Hernando County Sheriff's Office reported.

Officials were investigating the incident, a spokesperson said, specifically whether protocols were followed.
