Hillsborough deputies investigate what happened to man found critically injured

THONOTOSASSA — Deputies want to find out what happened to a young man found in a ditch with life-threatening injuries Monday night.

Someone found Christopher Charles Daniels, 18, of Thonotosassa at 11:15 p.m. in a ditch on the south side of Franklin Road, just west of the Antioch Park entrance, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

He was taken to Tampa General Hospital for treatment. Deputies say his injuries are consistent with being struck by a vehicle, but don't have any evidence that's what happened to Daniels.

His car was found parked inside Antioch Park with no visible damage.

Anyone who was in the area between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Monday can contact the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200.
