Gibsonton woman found dead at Riverview shopping plaza

RIVERVIEW — Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a Gibsonton woman whose body was found Saturday morning behind a shopping plaza on Big Bend Road.

The naked body of Meaghan E. Casady, 21, was found by a Progressive Waste Solutions truck driver at about 7:20 a.m. behind the Summerfield Shopping Plaza at 11323 Big Bend Road near Summerfield Boulevard, deputies said. It appears that her body had only been there since last night or early today, sheriff's Col. Donna Lusczynski said.

The Hillsborough County medical examiner found no physical signs of homicidal violence.

An official cause of death will not be issued until toxicology analysis can be completed, the Sheriff's Office said, a process which can take six to eight weeks.

A man at Casady's home on Fox Way Trail declined to comment Saturday afternoon.

Anyone who knows about Casady's activities during the last 24 hours is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 800-873-8477.

Times researcher Natalie Watson contributed to this report.
