Hillsborough deputies search for missing 17-year-old boy

TAMPA — A 17-year-old boy, who went missing Tuesday night after driving away from his Tampa home, was found safe Thursday afternoon, Hillsborough County sheriff's officials said.

Antoine Ahn Minh Nguyen became the subject of a search after he vanished about 8 p.m. Tuesday. He was reported to be depressed about family problems when he got into a Toyota Camry about 8 p.m. Tuesday and drove off from his home at 12118 Midlake Drive, in the Carrollwood area, authorities said. He left behind his wallet and cell phone.

Authorities issued a plea for help finding him about noon Thursday. He was found safe about two hours later, authorities said.
