TAMPA — Deputies are searching for a missing teen they say is in danger because she needs medication she may not have with her.
They're asking for the public's help in their search for Afrika Hewitt, 14, who was last seen about 11:40 a.m. when she left her aunt's apartment, the River View Apartments at 7381 Bonita Vista Way near Sligh Avenue and 56th Street.
She is black, 5 foot 4 and 98 pounds. She has black, shoulder-length hair with blond highlights, and she was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white- andgray-striped shirt and white high-top shoes.
She was carrying a Coach purse and a red bag with polka dots and the Betty Boop character.
