VALRICO — Twin 3-year-old girls reported missing Tuesday were found that night, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the mother of the twins contacted the Sheriff's Office after seeing media reports that she had taken them on Nov. 17.

The mother, Mary Patricia Vona, 29, of Valrico, voluntarily returned the girls Tuesday, according to the Sheriff's Office said. Deputies said the children were unharmed.

Vona's husband, the father of the twins, said his daughters Rosemary and Juliette Vona and his wife went missing along with their belonging Nov. 17.

A Hillsborough County judge had awarded custody of the children to their father, according to the Sheriff's Office.
