TAMPA — A crash involving a Hillsborough County sheriff's deputy snarled Tuesday evening's rush-hour traffic on Interstate 275 near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Deputy Joseph Williams, 43, was driving south on I-275 when traffic slowed and he was rear-ended by the driver behind him, said Deputy Larry McKinnon, a spokesman for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
The force of the crash pushed Williams' marked cruiser into the rear of the car in front of him. No serious injuries were reported and the accident was moved the shoulder by 6 p.m.
Williams has been with the Sheriff's Office since 2003.
