Holiday 3-year-old in critical condition after float flips in Palm Harbor pool

PALM HARBOR — A 3-year-old boy nearly drowned in a backyard pool at 3420 Dove Hollow Court on Sunday evening, emergency officials said.

Paramedics from Palm Harbor Fire Rescue responded to the call after parents called 911 and were able to restore the boy's pulse.

The child, Tryston B. Sierra, was flown to All Children's Hospital in critical condition. He was still in critical condition early Monday.

Pinellas County deputies said the child's mother, Desiree Sierra of Holiday, was visiting friends along with her five children, who range in age from less than a year to 12.

Deputies said the children were swimming as parents watched. Tryston was in the pool inside a circular flotation device that flipped over. Another child called to parents for help, deputies said,

The Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
