Crews continue to monitor a depression that formed under a home in Holiday on Monday, forcing the evacuation of several nearby homes.

According to the Pasco County officials, building officials were on hand Tuesday morning to monitor to inspect the property at 5005 Genesis Ave. Geologists also are at the site today to determine the nature of the depression.

Officials say the depression — estimated to be about 25 to 30 feet wide and 10 feet deep — did not grow overnight.

On Monday, crews set up a 100-foot perimeter around the depression and recommended that everyone within that area evacuate their homes until geological experts could inspect the hole.

The home directly affected appeared to be unoccupied, officials said, because the owner splits time between Florida and New York.

Meanwhile, officials released a 911 call received on Monday, in which the caller alerted the dispatcher that "there's a sinkhole that goes way up under her house from the side."
