BAYONET POINT — A dispute between neighbors turned deadly Tuesday night when a 50-year-old man was fatally shot after he entered his neighbor's property and assaulted a woman, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting took place at about 8:15 p.m. at a home on the 12000 block of Victory Drive, the Sheriff's Office said, near Beacon Woods. James Edward Miller, 50, came onto the property of 66-year-old Tim Fryling and threatened him, deputies said. Then Miller battered Donna Fryling, 59, who lives with Tim Fryling, deputies said.

Tim Fryling went inside his home and retrieved a firearm. He went back outside and warned Miller several times to leave the property.

"After multiple verbal attempts to get the subject to leave the property, Fryling then shot the subject," the Sheriff's Office said.

Miller was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Sheriff's Office said the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the neighbors. No one has been arrested in this incident, and deputies said Tim Fryling is cooperating with them.
