Identity of woman found dead near Dunedin Causeway still unknown

DUNEDIN — Pinellas deputies are still trying to identify an elderly woman whose body was found floating near the Dunedin Causeway late Wednesday night.

The woman did not have any identification, and no one has reported a missing person matching her description, a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokesman said.

Maintenance workers at Royal Stewart Arms, a waterfront condominium complex at 1 Royal Stewart Parkway, reported the body just before midnight.

The woman was fully clothed and there were no signs of foul play, deputies said.

Deputies are planning to go "door-to-door" in the area to see if someone can identify the woman, said spokesman Sgt. Tom Nestor.
