In separate crashes, 2 traffic fatalities on Hillsborough roads

TAMPA — Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies were investigating two separate traffic deaths early Sunday.

Around 12:30 a.m., a motorcyclist driving west on Progress Boulevard crashed after striking a median, deputies said. The male victim, who was not immediately identified because authorities had not yet reached family members, died at Tampa General Hospital. Deputies said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

In the second incident around 3:15 a.m., deputies say a car struck a bicyclist crossing U.S. 41 near Crystal Lake Road in Lutz. The bicyclist died on scene. The male victim's name was also not released as authorities attempted to notify family members.
