Iowa man arrested at Tampa Bay Comic Con for stalking Kate Beckinsale

TAMPA — Actor Kate Beckinsale postponed a panel appearance for several hours Saturday at Tampa Bay Comic Con to file a police report after an Iowa man with a history of harassing her was arrested, Tampa police said.

Terry Lee Repp, 45, was at the event early Saturday morning. Beckinsale was schedule to appear at an 11:30 a.m. question-and-answer session.

"(Repp) appears to have an irrational obsession with (Beckinsale) and has traveled across the country in an effort to harass her," the police report said.

Repp was arrested around 9:30 a.m., the report said.

At a 2016 event in Salt Lake City, Utah, he touched her back and talked about stabbing her; he followed her to Houston later that year and was detained by the Houston Police Department, police said.

"(His) actions have caused (Beckinsale) substantial emotional distress and caused her to fear for safety," the report said.

The panel discussion was rescheduled for 6 p.m., Comic Con spokeswoman Jamie Kautzmann said.

Beckinsale is best known for her lead role in the Underworld series of action-horror movies.
