Labrador retriever that was in firefighter's stolen SUV is found

ST. PETERSBURG — A dog that was stolen along with a firefighter's SUV on Wednesday has been found, police said.

About noon, George Ottley, a South Pasadena firefighter, reported his 2003 GMC Yukon stolen from 6565 Fifth Ave. S. Police said the car was parked with the keys in the ignition and the motor running with the air conditioner on to keep the 3-year-old Labrador retriever named Hanna comfortable inside.

Ottley told police he was doing some work at the home and had only left the truck for a short time. When he returned, the truck, dog, a gun, cash, coins and a laptop were gone.

The SUV was found Wednesday night near 4509 10th Ave. S. Early Thursday, a bicyclist found the dog wandering the streets in the same neighborhood.
