Teen brothers accused in attempted robbery

Two teenage brothers are accused of attempting to rob six other teens while armed with guns.

The brothers are Jowel Jacob Figuero, 18, and Branden Jariel Figuero, 17, both of Lutz. The incident happened Jan. 3 at Wilderness Lake Preserve. Four teenage boys and two teenage girls were in a parking lot when a car pulled up and two boys hopped out, armed with guns, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said. The boys wore disguises, a report states, and ordered the victims to the ground. Some victims ran and the suspects chased them.

The report does not state if any victims were injured. Detectives tracked down the driver of the car, who identified the Figuero brothers, the Sheriff's Office states.

They were arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault. Branden Figuero, whose alias is Bro Fig, was taken into juvenile custody. His arrest report states he is a student at Sunlake High School.

Jowel Figuero, who goes by Jo Fig, was released from the Pasco jail within hours of his arrest on $5,000 bail. According to his arrest report, he is unemployed.
