Largo woman struck and killed by pickup in Mango

MANGO — An 46-year-old pedestrian was hit and killed by a Ford pickup Thursday night while crossing a road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Sandra Denise West of Largo was walking south across E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Williams Road around 10 p.m.

A 2001 Ford F-150 driven by 23-year-old Eric Reardon of Seffner was driving east on King Boulevard when West walked into his path and collided with the vehicle, according to the FHP.

There were no crosswalks in the area of the collision.

West died at the scene.

Reardon was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
