Man, 34, dies from injuries in fight after Tampa monster truck show

TAMPA — A 34-year-old man injured Saturday in a fight after the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam truck competition died in the hospital Monday night, police said.

David Stanaland, 34, died of his injuries at about 11 p.m. at Tampa General Hospital.

During the fight, Stanaland suffered a serious head injury that left him hospitalized since Saturday night.

Police initially described the fight, which broke out between two groups walking near Leroy Street and Himes Avenue, as an "isolated incident."

No arrests have been made in the case. An investigation remains ongoing, said Tampa police spokeswoman Andrea Davis.
