Man found dead behind gas station near Tampa

TAMPA — Deputies identified a man Tuesday who was found dead behind a BP gas station the night before.

Huayvez Gomez-Mejia, 25, didn't have any signs of trauma when his body was discovered, according to the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office. However, deputies have classified his death as suspicious pending an autopsy at the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office.

A BP gas station clerk called deputies about 11 p.m. Monday about a man on the ground behind the station at 2230 E Fletcher Ave. Gomez-Mejia was dead when deputies arrived.
