Man in critical condition after beating in Pinellas Park

A 63-year-old man suffered life-threatening injures after someone beat him in Pinellas Park Monday morning, police said.

About 11:30 a.m., officers responded to Lauren Manor Apartments, 7450 35th St. N, after receiving a report of a person injured during a battery.

The victim was working outside when someone struck him with a blunt object, police say. The attacker fled. No arrest has been made.

The victim was transported to Bayfront Medical Center and was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, police said. His name was not released.

A news release did not include a description of the attacker.

The apartment complex has also issued a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect.
