TAMPA — Authorities still aren't sure what caused the death of 19-year-old Michael Agana, whose car struck a concrete balustrade along Bayshore Boulevard and sunk into the bay last Friday.
Though the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy Thursday, the agency hasn't determined the cause or manner of death. That could take eight to 12 weeks, the office said, as officials conduct tests and await results.
Agana was submerged under water for about 15 minutes, according to authorities. A Tampa police office pulled him out of his Totoya Camry, and paramedics took him to Tampa General Hospital.
He was taken off oxygen Tuesday, and passed away just after midnight.
