Missing Hernando County boy has been located unharmed

Missing youth returns home unharmed

A 14-year-old Hernando County boy who disappeared early Wednesday was found unharmed about 13 hours later, authorities said.

Michael Claude Sassone was located at 10:20 p.m. near the entrance to the Brookridge community, where he lives, a Hernando Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said. He returned home on his own.

The teen had last been seen about 7:45 a.m. riding his bicycle near the 14000 block of Misty St. in Brookridge. He left home after arguing with his parents and did not show up at school, prompting the Sheriff's Office to ask for the public's help in finding him.
