Missing Tampa man with dementia, 80, found in Ohio

Maurice Kirchberg was found in Ohio on Wednesday after going missing from Tampa a day earlier.

TAMPA — Authorities found an 80-year-old man with dementia who went missing from Tampa in Ohio on Wednesday evening.

Maurice Kirchberg had been last seen at 11 a.m. Tuesday when he and his wife took a nap at their home, 1102 E Yukon St. Police said that when his wife woke up at 12:30 p.m., Kirchberg and their Pontiac minivan were gone. Police issued a Silver Alert.

Tampa police reported he was found in Forest Park, Ohio.

Kirchberg moved to Tampa in November from Dubuque, Iowa.
