TAMPA — A missing teen thought to be endangered turned herself in to Tampa police Wednesday night after going missing that day, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Afrika Hewitt, 14, was last seen about 11:40 a.m. when she left her aunt's apartment at 7381 Bonita Vista Way, near Sligh Avenue and 56th Street. She was considered in danger because she may not have had medication she needed with her.
It was not clear what she was doing. Deputies said she knew authorities were looking for her.
