THONOTOSASSA — Authorities closed all northbound lanes of Interstate 75 on Wednesday after a fire erupted on the interstate involving a truck and a motor home.

The blaze was reported at about 11:45 a.m. along the stretch of I-75 near the exit to E Fletcher Avenue and Morris Bridge Road. The Florida Highway Patrol tweeted a picture at about noon that showed a silver pickup truck parked at the rear of the motor home, which was completely engulfed in flames. The RV appeared to be towing the truck when the fire started.

Officials advised motorists to seek an alternate route until the scene is cleaned up. Some northbound lanes have been reopened.
