Natural gas line rupture closes Gandy Boulevard in Tampa

TAMPA — A ruptured natural gas pipe closed part of W Gandy Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue for nearly two hours Tuesday morning, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.

The pipe burst in the northeast corner of Gandy and Manhattan while construction crews were digging in the area, fire officials said.

Eastbound Gandy was closed from S Dale Mabry Highway to S Westshore Boulevard. Manhattan was closed for about two blocks north and south of Gandy.

The roads reopened about 11:45 a.m.
