TAMPA — A dump truck filled with dirt overturned on the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway just before noon Monday, blocking traffic for more than three hours.
The truck's driver, John Hilrun, 53, suffered minor injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened about 11:40 a.m. as Hilrun headed east on the Selmon Expressway in the outside lane. He swerved left to avoid hitting a vehicle that had stopped in front of him, and he lost control of the truck, the patrol reported.
The truck overturned, dumping dirt across the road.
